Buffalo's Disappointing Performance Gives New England Path to AFC East Lead - Highlights of NFL Week 10

The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many fans into the National Football League
That result may have opened opportunities for the New England Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an advantage over their 8-2 competitors
Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to arrange a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or something more? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Bills had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only got the team's opening first down in the third quarter and first points in the final quarter - admittedly Miami had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the NFL's top offences
Tua Tagovailoa passed for two touchdowns but running back De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Containing the league's best running game was crucial too, with Cook and company recording just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard season average
Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins turned into a touchdown just later
It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Allen trying to overcompensate to dig his team out of it - not the composed, disciplined, balanced Bills we've witnessed this year
Miami have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll need an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a nice lead at the summit of the AFC East
Spotlight - Patriots See Path to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the New England, they're among three eight and two teams in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the best?
You can find flaws in New England, the Broncos and the Colts actually for feasting on the lesser sides, with only five of their total twenty-four victories coming against opponents with a winning record - and one of those was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos
The Broncos beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Buffalo seems like a declaration
Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight victories, just like Denver, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was huge
Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves point for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but persevering to guide his side to success
The defense is reliable and rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 yards and two exciting touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to break 22mph this season on his first score
While you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to finish with the top record thanks to their schedule - which features just one game against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against Buffalo
Traveling to Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also compete for top seed but face the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the fixture list
The Colts also face the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to contend with. There is a long way to go but the opportunity is open for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference
Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Next Week Clash
Two teams with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three different 8-2 teams are National Football Conference West opponents the Seattle and Rams, who both put up forty points to reach 7-2 ahead of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the pair in Los Angeles
They've both secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a game
Both could realistically be without a loss as well - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play blocked and returned by the Eagles for a touchdown
The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in week one, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are genuinely among the best sides in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season so far
Top Performer - Taylor
Jonathan Taylor could be on for a historic year after his incredible display in Germany - rushing for 244 rushing yards, registering three touchdowns and adding an additional 42 {receiving yards
