Spurs Boss Frank Labels Goalkeeper Booers 'Not Genuine Fans'

Fulham Begin Powerfully to Defeat Tottenham and Raise Pressure on the Manager

Spurs supporters who booed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario were told afterwards "they cannot be true Spurs supporters" by boss Frank.

Spurs let in two goals in the first initial moments to fall 2-1 to their opponents, marking their 10th top-flight at home loss of the year.

However the primary topic of discussion was Fulham's next score when Vicario gave away the ball well outside his area.

The goalkeeper ventured out to deal with a high pass and took the ball towards the sideline.

However, rather than booting it into touch, the Italian turned and attempted to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball glanced off Harry Wilson and was controlled by King.

The forward passed the ball off to Welsh midfielder Harry Wilson, who bent a strike into the net from the sideline measured at thirty-six point six yards.

Moments afterwards when the ball came to the keeper once more, some Spurs fans booed him.

The team were booed off at the interval, with the club 2-0 behind, and once more at the final whistle.

One of those booing sessions truly irritated the manager.

"It came to my attention some of our fans apparently booed the situation and jeered after, which, in my view is totally unjustifiable," the Dane stated regarding the supporters' reaction to his goalkeeper.

"[They] can't be real Tottenham supporters that do that. Fair enough jeering after the match, fine, but when we are in play, we are backing one another, we are with each other going forward."

Tete had given Fulham a early lead before Wilson's goal – with Kudus scoring for Tottenham in an better second period showing.

Former top-flight goalkeeper Hart stated that the next score was "completely preventable".

"I do understand the fans' frustration," the ex-keeper added. "I know the role the keeper is playing. He's a great squad member, he is a real leader in the dressing room but ultimately you are going to be judged by your decisions.

"He was deeply implicated in what turned out to be the decisive goal."

'It is In the Game, I Can Handle It'

Frank Defended His Keeper Guglielmo Vicario After the Game

Italian international Vicario is in his 3rd campaign with Tottenham.

He said following the game that he had to take the feedback.

"The second goal was a error of mine, I accept accountability for it," he said.

"The intent was to kick the ball long and I simply hit the ball in a bad way. That made an even bigger challenge to climb."

He stated being booed "is part of football".

"I'm a big man, how can I respond?" he added. "We cannot be affected by the circumstances in the crowd. The fans have the right to do what they think.

"It is on the team to stay increasingly calm, to focus on our own performance. We are lacking in calmness and calmness to overturn results. This match is a poor loss and it's hard to take."

'It Shocked Me Nobody Returned to the Line'

In spite of Vicario's error, it was not an easy score for Harry Wilson to convert.

Actually it was the next most distant Premier League goal of the season – after Adams' 43.3 metre strike for Bournemouth against the Black Cats, which incidentally too occurred on Saturday.

Wilson said he was "a little bit taken aback" that he still had an open goal to target.

Ten seconds elapsed between the keeper coming out of his box and Wilson striking – which was 5 seconds after the clearance.

"I felt like the goalkeeper was out of the area for a long time," Wilson said.

"It amazed me not one of the defenders went back to the goal line. When not one of them defended the net, my interest sparked somewhat.

"[Destiny] Udogie fell as well, which gave me a bit of additional time. Then it was all about attempting to make the right contact and place it towards goal. I had a positive sense, as soon as it came off my foot, that it was heading in."

'During in a Bad Spell, Everything Appears to Work Against You'

Booing While We Are Still in Play Is Totally Unacceptable - the Manager

While Vicario's error led coverage, this was an overall bad day for Spurs to continue their home struggles.

This was their tenth at home defeat of 2025 in the Premier League, a joint team statistic matching 1994 and two thousand and three.

They still have home fixtures against the manager's old side Brentford and title holders the Reds to play prior to the end of the season.

Just a single of those wins have come after Frank replaced his predecessor in the off-season.

"If you are down 2-0 following six minutes, there is a mountain to overcome," stated the boss.

"When you're in a poor run, everything seems to go against you as well – the first was a redirected attempt, the next is a mistake from Vic.

"This result leaves us in a place where we have suffered another game. Every game has a unique narrative, this game we were defeated in the first six minutes.

"We just need to continue striving. The later period was significantly improved and hopefully something we can utilize to learn."

Tottenham have been defeated in 4 straight home capital clashes for the first time in the Premier League.

And they are averaging 9.5 shots and 3.2 efforts on goal per match in the division – their lowest rates on file in a one season (since at least 2003-04).

Ex- Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy stated that Frank has to endure the criticism.

"He must take the criticism," the pundit said. "He's taken a prestigious role at a huge team with enormous expectation. There is pressure and responsibility that comes with that.

"Their showings at their stadium have been disappointing and they have to improve {quickly|
